Preparation

Tools & Materials:

• Screwdrivers (Phillips and flathead)
• Socket set or wrenches
• Metal cutter (or a Dremel/rotary tool with a cutting disc)
• Protective gear (safety glasses and gloves)
• Marker or chalk for measurements
• The new bracket kit (includes brackets, screws, and bolts

Removing the Old Brackets

Locate the Existing Brackets:

Inspect the fog light area to identify where the old brackets are mounted. They are usually attached with screws or bolts along the fog light housing or adjacent panel.

Remove Fasteners:
Using the appropriate screwdriver or socket wrench, remove all screws/bolts securing the old brackets.
Tip: Keep these fasteners aside in case you need them for reference or if they might be reused.

Detach the Old Brackets:
Once the fasteners are removed, gently pull off the old brackets. If they seem stuck or corroded, use a little penetrating oil and work them loose carefully.

3. Preparing the Mounting Area

Mark the New Bracket Position:
. Position the new bracket against the mounting surface where the old one was installed. Use a marker or chalk to outline the exact spot where any new hole(s) will need to be made.

Cutting the New Hole:
• Safety First: Wear your safety glasses and gloves.
• Secure the area so the panel doesn’t move while you work.
• Use your metal cutter or rotary tool to carefully cut the necessary hole, following the marked outline. Take your time to ensure the cut is neat and the hole is the proper size for the new bracket.
Tip: If the bracket design requires a specific hole diameter or shape, double-check the measurements before cutting.

Clean Up the Edges:
. After cutting, remove any burrs or rough edges with a file or sandpaper to ensure a smooth surface for bracket installation.

Installing the New Brackets

Align the Bracket:
Place the new bracket into the newly cut opening. Ensure that all alignment holes line up perfectly with the marks you made earlier.


Insert Fasteners:
Use the screws and bolts provided in the kit to secure the bracket in place.
• Start by loosely inserting all screws/bolts to allow minor adjustments.
• Once aligned correctly, tighten each fastener incrementally to distribute pressure evenly.

Check for Fit and Stability:
Confirm that the bracket is firmly attached and that there is no unwanted movement. It should hold the fog light securely without any gaps.

Finalizing the Installation

Double-Check All Fasteners:
Revisit each screw and bolt to confirm they are tightened to the manufacturer’s recommended torque (if specified).

Clean the Work Area:
Remove any metal shavings or debris from the cutting process and wipe down the area.

Test Operation:
Turn on the fog lights to check that they are securely mounted and functioning properly. Listen for any unusual vibrations or movement.
